Distinguished Achievers

Tuesday 23 Feb

A fortnight a go we held our Annual Distinguished Achiever Assembly! A Distinguished Achiever is anyone who gains a Band 6 in the HSC. This year we had 26 High Achievers in a broad range of subjects! At the assembly the proud recipients received a certificate and gave advice to our current students on how to achieve their best in the future.

Over the next two weeks we will be celebrating these High Achievers and sharing their tips and plans for 2020!

You can check out those distinguished achievers on our social media pages linked below.

Who better to start than our 2020 Dux Elvie Howell! We want to congratulate Elvie and wish her luck at Sydney University this year! Elvie's advice is to "find a friend to study with & keep each other motivated!"

Elvie was also invited to be part of the Dalyell Scholars Program this year at Sydney University!

Who was Elsie Jean Dalyell?

A highly distinguished University of Sydney medical graduate, Elsie Jean Dalyell OBE (1881-1948) was the first full-time female academic in our Sydney Medical School. After travelling to London on a University scholarship and then serving in World War I, she conducted pioneering work with a medical team in Vienna, Austria, into childhood diseases. Her academic excellence and commitment to creating her own path are hallmarks of our Dalyell Scholars stream.
