CRONULLA HIGH SCHOOL SELECTION CRITERIA FOR NON-LOCAL ENROLMENT APPLICATIONS  
If in the event of there being vacancies in any year, 7 to 12, the following procedures will be followed. Enrolment ceilings and an enrolment buffer will be established, taking into consideration existing accommodation and allocated teaching staff. If demand for placement exceeds availability an enrolment panel will be established to make recommendations on all non-local enrolment applications. The composition of the panel will follow DET guidelines. The panel will give priority to the following factors when considering applications.  
Students who have applied for and are also successful in gaining placement in the Year 7 Extension Class will be accepted for enrolment.
Siblings of currently enrolled Cronulla High School students will be accepted
Availability of subjects or subject combinations.
All other applicants will be ranked in order of and according to:
Academic ability/achievements  
Other interests and abilities or achievements eg; sporting, musical, technological, dramatic etc. 
Specific welfare needs of individual students will also be considered.
A satisfactory case for enrolment, providing suitable argument and justification of specific welfare needs must be provided.  Out of Area applicants will be offered enrolment in order of ranking. 
Waiting Lists
Waiting lists will be established if necessary and parents will be informed of their child’s position on the waiting list. 
Appeals
Any appeal against the decision of the enrolment panel must be made in writing to the Principal.
