COMPUTER RESOURCES Cronulla High School leads the way in integrating computer technology into learning programs. The school has four well-equipped computer rooms all of which are set up with current business and various consumer software packages such as MS Windows and MS Office. We have also recently installed wireless technology throughout the school. All computer workstations have concurrent Internet access. At least one of the computer rooms is supervised each lunch break to allow students to have free time on the computers to complete assignments and homework. Computers in the library are also available for students at recess and lunchtime, and during senior study periods. Emphasis is placed on student computer literacy at Cronulla High and our computer resources are constantly updated so that they keep pace with current industry and commerce standards. All students in Years 7 and 8 take Computing Studies to ensure that their IT skills are first class. LIBRARY The school library has an extensive range of fiction as well as reference books and is open to students before school, at recess and at lunchtime. The library staff is available at recess and lunchtime to assist students with research. As well as being equipped with the latest photocopying machine for student use, there are fifteen computers, wireless technology and a computer room set up for student use with access to multi media software and also to the Internet. Cronulla High School students are currently managing the school’s Web Site. An Independent Learning Centre operates to provide study facilities for senior students. T.A.S. FACILITIES (WORKSHOPS) The school has a separate block, which houses the Technological and Applied Studies workshops. These workshops are well equipped with modern tools and machinery and offer students the opportunity to experiment with various materials while producing worthwhile projects in Technics subjects, Design and Technology and Industrial Technology. OTHER PRACTICAL FACILITIES Include: - A dedicated Performing Arts Studio (Dance and Drama) - Fully equipped kitchens including one commercial kitchen - Science Laboratories - Art practical rooms - Photography dark room - School Assembly Hall |
