2008 Dance Report The extra curricular dance groups consist of the Company, Senior Ensemble, Junior Ensemble and the Hip Hop group. Fifteen of the most able students from year 8 to year 11 make up the company. The Senior Ensemble has eighteen members from years 9 and 10 while the Junior Ensemble comprises of sixteen year 7 and 8 students. The latter three groups were selected for the Sydney Regional Dance Festival. The Hip Hop group will perform at the MacDonald’s Performing Arts Challenge on July 6th as well as competing in the Kuranulla Dance Festival in August. Students can also select Hip Hop for recreational sport. Two year eight students, Hannah McGuire and Hannah Smith were selected to attend the Middle Regional Dance Camp. Three year 10 students were selected to attend the Senior Regional Dance Camp. They were Luke Rafter, Madison Breen and Shaylee Keith. Alicia Gordon in year 9 attended the State Dance Camp and was selected for the State Dance Ensemble. Lauren Houston in year 10 was also selected for the State Dance Ensemble. Sixteen students have been selected to perform at the Schools Spectacular in November. There are eight students studying Dance as an elective in year 9 and seventeen in year 10. Currently, there are five students studying Dance as a subject in the Preliminary course. |
